SPAINPART DOS
(truly, this will be part two of a 3.8 part deep dive into the Spanish section of the Iberian Peninsula…
attempting to visit all of España in one evening is tantamount to devouring an entire haunch of jamón by oneself,
in one sitting, with copitas of Jerez between each slice)
Tuesday, May 6th, 8:00pm - 10:30pm
-a walk-around tasting of at least 35 wines, exploring many of the indigenous grapes*
and unique wines and terroirs and histories of this glorious winescape
-foodstuffs…ohhhhh, there will be tapas…and more tapas…
and maybe even more tapas (they are small after all)
-a conversation with Kerin Auth Bembry,
co-owner of La Luz Selections and Spanish wine bon vivant…
Kerin is to Spanish wine as Aitana Bonmati is to the idea of fútbol total
$118.00

NOTES:
-SPAIN possesses apparently 600 different grapes…at least according to my mom.
*PART DOS of our SPAIN study will focus on the southern half of the country’s wine regions
(some cartographers might actually consider it to be the top half of the country)
-SPAIN began its wine journey with the Phoenicians in 1100BCE; they established Cádiz as a trading center
and a future home of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival.
-SPAIN is very much in a wine revolution at present,
with a new generation of producers giving a new voice to historic winescapes
and a class of newly minted winegrowers, unencumbered by any traditions at all, crafting a new vocabulary of wine.
We very much look forward to celebrating SPAIN with you.
