ALSACE - the wine promised land
March 5 2026 | 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM24 Harrison St, New York, NY 10013
Ohhhhhh, People of America, is there a more beautiful wine area
than the region of Alsace, tucked into the northeastern part of France,
smack up against the German border?!
We think not.
In fact, we very much think that not only are the visuals
of this region magnificent but that the wines
are pristine and yummy and maybe even sort of perfect.
And we must, therefore, honor this.
And scream from the rafters how compelling these wines are.
Some reasons that justify our wine stance:
-Alsace receives the least amount of rain
AND the most amount of sun of any region in France...
this equals fully ripe grapes
-Alsace is a matrix of a matrix of different terroirs.
SO, if the idea of terroir is what drives your wine curiosity,
then Alsace is for you
-Alsace is generally about single variety wines,
focusing on the noble varieties...
this makes things easy to understand
Ultimately, People of America, your wine heart will be bursting
with enthusiasm on this night...it will be that overwhelming.
The specifics:
-it will be a walk-around tasting, with 25 different Alsatian wines
-there will be Alsatian foodstuffs...I assume we will be prepping a tarte flambee
and a wheel of munster cheese will be hiding somewhere in the joint
-we will very much have a big conversation about this glorious region...
my desire is to figure out how to make it a 4-dimensional conversation
We very much look forward to celebrating
the glorious wine region of Alsace with you.
