Pascaline Lepeltier talks philosophy AND wine...seriously
March 13 2023 | 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM24 Harrison St, New York 10013
Well, this night should be interesting and crazy and maybe even important...
but then I am prone to a degree of hyperbole.
Yes, Pascaline Lepeltier...the almighty Pascaline Lepeltier...
-Beverage Director of Chambers Restaurant
-Master Sommelier
-Un Meilleurs Ouvriers de France - Sommelier
-4th place finish at the A.S.I.
World's Best Sommelier Competition 2023
AND
-a Masters Degree in Philosophy from the Universite de Nantes
And it is this last piece of the Pascaline World Order that we will hone in on
during our night of conversation and philosophizing.
Truly, we will dig deep into the philosophies of:
-Plato...the platonic ideal
-Nietzsche...the will to power
-Bergson...the elan vital
-Deleuze...rhizome...uhmmm, this could be really interesting
The totality of the night will be composed of:
-10 wine stations, each focusing on a region / grape / wine style
that Pascaline has focused on in her new book, Mille Vignes
-a one hour conversation with Pascaline about the above-mentioned philosophers
-each one will get about 15 minutes of divided / undivided attention
AND each one will have a wine dedicated to said conversation...
aka, so what is a platonic wine?!
-3 after-conversation beverage stations, for further deep dives
If this sounds odd, it might truly be...but we love to explore
new avenues of conversation about wine and we believe Pascaline
is one of those wine thinkers to drive our wine world forward.
We very much look forward to celebrating
wine & philosophy with you.
