Sunday Wine School - Syrah
January 25 2026 | 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM24 Harrison St, New York, NY 10013
Oh my, if there is one grape that truly boggles the wine mind, it must be Syrah…
with aromatics ranging from ripe blueberries to violets to black pepper to smoked meat to iodine,
one truly wonders how a simple fruit (a grape) can be turned into a beverage that mystifies the senses like this.
It is wild and untamed. Yet it can be aristocratic and elegant, too.
It gives voice to a rough-hewn landscape in the Northern Rhône Valley of France
AND is the poster child for fine wine in Australia.
It might be the outcast child at the table of sophisticated wine grapes
but it is definitely the grape you want to party with late into the night.
The specifics of the event:
-it will be a seated gathering, at communal tables
-6 wines will be enjoyed during the class + a welcome wine
-there will be a snack, because we want your bellies to be happy
-there will be instruction and conversation...this is a class after all...
lasting roughly 60 minutes...
-there will not be a test at the finish of the class
We very much look forward to celebrating
the Syrah grape with you.
