Terroir visits Spain
February 27 2023 | 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM24 Harrison St, New York 10013
Ohhhhhh, Wine People of America, you know this is going to be good.
And by good, we mean brilliant. And by brilliant, we mean that this is only PART UNO
of a 2.5 part deep dive into the glorious wine land of Spain...
the wine country of Spain is simply too big to fit into a single night.
Our focus for PART UNO will essentially be the northern swath of vineyard lands,
from the Catalan coast all the way to Santiago de Compostela
(maybe think of this tasting as a vinous walk along the Way of St. James).
There will be bubbles...aka, cava.
There will be vino blanco...albarino & hondarrabi zuri & verdejo+++!
There will be a fixation upon tempranillo
and its iterations in Rioja / Toro / Ribera del Duero.
And there will be others...lots of others!
(Spain supposedly has over 600 different grape varieties so there is a lot of stuff to investigate).
The world of Spanish Wine & Food has morphed dramatically over the past 30 years,
with the presence of a new generation of well-traveled producers and thinkers.
And the Spain of today is definitely not the Spain of the 1980s.
On this night, we will honor this incredible guatatory revolution and evolution.
The specifics of the event:
-it will be a walk-around tasting, with at least 35 different Spanish wines
-there will be Spanish foodstuffs...tapas were created just for this purpose!
-we will hopefully have a guest speaker, to discuss all things Spanish
We very much look forward to celebrating
this majestic wine country with you.
